Founder and Design Director at Matter, Monique Gamache's ability to distil complex companies and organizations into simple and powerful brand platforms has gained her international renown. Trained at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Monique creates and revitalizes brands from the ground up: strategizing, conceptualizing and finessing their unique visual language to speak distinctly to consumers and stand out in saturated markets.
Monique's work has been recognized by the One Show and the Type Directors Club, earning her among other awards a Cannes Silver Lion and a coveted D&AD Black Pencil. Monique also obsessively collects "M's" and "G's"—after thoughtful consideration we think we've worked out why.
Michala Sullivan is the fiercely organized, detail-oriented and client-requested Account Director every studio dreams about. She coordinates multiple projects (and personalities) with ease, while problem-solving with grace. With nearly a decade of experience working with a wide spectrum brands and businesses of various sizes, Michala is more than an organizer. She’s a strategic thinker, who brings keen strategic insight to every project she touches from beginning to end.
When she's not emailing clients for Matter, Michala is getting her heart rate up at boxing or spin class, ideally followed by a cold drink on a warm patio.
Courtney McLachlin is passionate about a lot: crafting brands, editorial design, typography design and voice, soccer, concerts, animals, hiking, rock climbing, skiing and biking. Exactly in that order. With a Bachelors of Design from AUArts (formerly ACAD) and a background in print media, web and editorial design, Courtney creates the flawless design deliverables that inspire our internal team and keep our clients constantly coming back for more.
An account manager who doubles as a graphic designer, advertising and print production professional, Julia brings extensive experience and an eagle eye for detail to every project she touches. Her left brain, right brain approach to collaborating with our clients, means she’s never afraid to ask "why"—leading to the kind of work that never fails to inspire.
A graduate from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Julia brings a thorough and confident approach to project delivery and it shows.
When Julia is not impressing Matter's clients she's obsessing over growing dahlias, the art of dressage, and finding the typos in restaurant menus.
